About Low Tides

A Northern NSW practice led by founders with executive digital and AI experience alongside deep university and institutional literacy.

More than a generic consultant. Less than a large firm.

Low Tides Research and Advisory is a Northern NSW practice led by William O'Keeffe and Mickinzie Clark. We work with universities, public-interest teams and mission-driven organisations that need more than a generic consultant: they need strategic thinking, structured documentation, institutional literacy and practical execution in the same engagement.

We are part of the O'Keeffe Group, a family office supporting mission-driven businesses across oceans, communities and healthcare technology. That structure lets us be selective, long-term in our thinking and genuinely committed to the outcomes of every engagement.

Based in New Brighton, our work is shaped by the coastal landscape we operate in: patient, pattern-attentive, and oriented toward consequence rather than speed.

Three principles that shape every engagement.

We do not operate with a playbook. We adapt to the environment the work is in. But these principles hold regardless of project type, sector or scope.

01

Evidence before noise

We begin with what is already known. Research, data, institutional context and prior work come before any recommendation.

02

Systems over slide decks

We build things that last. Frameworks, documentation, workflows and structured outputs that work after we leave.

03

Long-horizon thinking

We take on work we can lead well, and we think about what the work needs to sustain beyond the initial engagement.

A coastal name is not a decorative one.

Coastal systems are instructive because they are dynamic, patterned and never fully controlled. They respond to pressure over time. They reveal what accumulates. And they make poor short-term thinking visible.

Public-interest and institutional work is often similar. The problems that matter most are rarely solved by speed alone. They require observation, sequencing and an understanding of how systems behave under pressure.
